1.4 Sensitive Information

Please do not upload Social Security numbers, government identification numbers, financial account numbers, biometric identifiers, precise geolocation, or health or medical information unless absolutely necessary to use the Service. If you upload documents related to an insurance claim, they may contain such information; we will treat any sensitive information we receive in accordance with this Policy and applicable law.

2. How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Service, including processing your questions and generating AI Output.
  • Create and manage your account, authenticate you, and process subscriptions and payments.
  • Communicate with you about your account, transactions, support requests, security alerts, and changes to the Service or our policies.

  • Monitor and analyze usage trends, diagnose technical problems, and improve performance and user experience.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms.
  • Comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests from public authorities, and enforce our agreements.
  • Create aggregated or de-identified data that no longer identifies you, which we may use for any lawful purpose.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We share personal information only as described below.

3.1 Service Providers

We share personal information with third-party service providers that perform services on our behalf and that are contractually required to use the information only to provide those services. Categories of service providers include:

  • Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers.
  • Artificial intelligence and machine-learning service providers that process your questions, uploaded documents, and uploaded photographs to generate AI Output. These providers are contractually prohibited from using your information to train their underlying foundation models.
  • Payment processing and subscription management providers.
  • Analytics, crash reporting, and product-performance providers.
  • Customer support and communication providers.
  • Authentication and identity providers.

3.2 Legal and Safety

We may disclose personal information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to: (a) comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; (b) enforce our Terms, including investigation of potential violations; (c) detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues; or (d) protect the rights, property, or safety of us, our users, or others.

3.3 Business Transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of our assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice before personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

3.4 With Your Consent

We may share personal information for other purposes with your consent or at your direction.

4. AI Processing and Your Consent

Your Consent. The Service's core functionality depends on artificial intelligence. By creating an account and using the Service, you expressly consent to the collection of your inputs and the transmission of those inputs to a third-party AI service provider for processing. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account; without this consent, the Service cannot operate.

What We Send to the AI Provider. When you ask a question or upload content for analysis, your input is transmitted to a third-party AI service provider to generate a response. Your input may include the text of your question, claim details you have entered, and (on Premium tiers) photographs and documents you have uploaded. We do not transmit your name, email address, payment information, or account credentials to the AI provider as part of these requests, except where strictly necessary for the AI provider's abuse-monitoring or operational purposes.

How the AI Provider Uses Your Data. The AI provider processes your input solely to generate a response for you and is contractually prohibited from using your input to train its underlying foundation models. The AI provider may retain transmitted data for a limited period for abuse-monitoring, security, and operational purposes, in accordance with its standard data-handling terms.

What You Should Not Submit. You should not include information in your questions or uploads that you are not authorized to share, that is subject to legal privilege you wish to preserve, or that you do not want transmitted to a third-party AI provider. This includes, where avoidable, Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, government identification numbers, and detailed medical information.

5. Data Retention

We retain your user account information for as long as your account is active. Claim data is retained according to the rules below, explained in greater detail in Section 11 of our Terms.

  • Free tier claims: Automatically deleted 30 days after creation, regardless of activity.
  • Premium tier claims: Automatically deleted after 90 consecutive days of inactivity. The inactivity clock resets each time you interact with the claim.
  • Chat messages within active Premium claims: Individual messages older than 180 days are deleted on a rolling basis.
  • Subscription end: If your Premium subscription ends due to cancellation, non-renewal, or payment failure, your claim data will be deleted. There is no downgrade path from Premium to the free tier.
  • Account deletion: All claims and associated data are deleted regardless of tier or activity.
  • Soft delete grace period: Claims scheduled for deletion enter a 15-day soft-delete state before permanent deletion, during which they may be recoverable by contacting us.

We may retain certain information longer to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or for fraud-prevention and security purposes. Aggregated or de-identified information may be retained indefinitely. You are solely responsible for exporting or backing up any claim data you wish to retain before it is deleted.

6. Data Security

We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These include encryption of data in transit, access controls, secure development practices, and routine monitoring. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Choices

  • Account Information: You can review and update your account information through the Service.
  • Marketing Communications: You can opt out of marketing emails by following the unsubscribe instructions in any email. We may still send transactional and service messages.
  • Push Notifications: You can disable push notifications through your device settings.
  • Account Deletion: You can delete your account at any time directly within the app under Settings, by visiting our account deletion page, or by contacting us using the information in Section 12. Deletion is subject to the retention periods described above and in our Terms.
